What we sell

Kashmiri Mongra saffron from the karewa terraces around Pampore, and the dry fruit the valley is known for — walnuts, almonds, figs, apricots and raisins — alongside dates, berries, seeds, Himalayan shilajit resin and a small number of imported lines, each labelled for what it is and where it is from.

How we grade

Everything is sold by weight, never by "a pinch" or an unspecified tin. Saffron is sold as Mongra or Lachha and described as what it is; nuts on kernel size and the proportion of halves to pieces; dates by count per kilogram; figs by diameter. Those are the measures that actually vary between two honest sellers, and they are what you pay for.

We sell from single lots and do not blend a good lot into a weaker one to stretch it. Saffron tins and shilajit jars carry their lot reference; nuts and dried fruit carry the packing date, so what you receive can be traced to a harvest rather than to a warehouse.

An imported line is labelled as imported. Californian walnut kernels are not sold as Kashmiri, and La Mancha saffron is not sold as Pampore.

Paperwork

Saffron lots ship with their lot card and laboratory report. Shilajit is screened for heavy metals per lot. Where a claim cannot be evidenced it is not made — we say nothing about what any product does for your health.

Who writes the journal

The journal is written by the people who sort, grade and keep the lot records — the KongPosh grading desk in Srinagar. Articles that touch on health are held back until a qualified reviewer has signed them off, and carry the reviewer's name when they are published.
